What can you expect at Hillsdale Flower Farm?
Springtime brings bright new life to the trees. Our cherry, plum, pear and apple orchard burst into flower. In the summer our flower and vegetable gardens are in full bloom. The peony garden has over 200 plants and once finished blooming the dahlias and sunflowers take over the show. The large pond with fountain provides a beautiful backdrop and you can take the rowboat out to create your perfect “Notebook” moment. This year we have added two 100m lanes packed with sunflowers to create a walk-through Sunflower Alley.
Our 3 acre property has hundreds of mature trees and in the fall the colors are unmatched. The walking trail that surrounds the property really shines in this season. Next to the pond we have an open fire pit with wooden benches to cozy up to when the weather starts to chill. The spruce and pine trees covered with white fluffy snow are magical. And winter also turns our pond into the perfect skating and hockey rink.
Other features of the property include a large wooden wishing well with hops vines climbing over it, and a black and white lofted barn. We also have a small boat for the pond (available for extra fee).
We are located 5 minutes east of Sherwood Park with easy access to Wye Road and the Whitemud extension. Our paved driveway can accommodate a large number of vehicles inside our gated property.
Rates
For two hour sessions - $150 plus gst
Each additional hour - $50 plus gst
Includes access to the property, use of the fire pit and wooden benches.
Use of the rowboat and access to the pond requires prior notice and an additional fee of $50.
*Your private photography session is just that – Private.We only book one session at a time so you can have access to the property for yourselves.
Payment is due in full prior to the photo session. Available methods of payment include cash, e-transfer to flowers@hillsdaleflowerfarm.com, VISA or Mastercard.
Rules
This is a working farm and our family’s home. We ask that you respect our livelihood and our family’s privacy when on property.
A maximum of 20 people can be on property at one time. (*Fewer people if COVID restrictions state lower limitations)
A maximum of 10 vehicles can be on property at one time.
The zipline and second level of the children’s fort is strictly off limits.
If going into the gardens please watch your step to avoid crushing any newly sprouting plants and take caution against breaking branches and stems. Picking flowers is prohibited.
Access to buildings is denied. We do not have a publicly accessible washroom available.
Please respect your booking time. Photographers may arrive 15 minutes early for setup and all members of the group must be off-site within 10 minutes post-scheduled booking end time. Failure to respect your booking time will result in additional fees.
Cancellation
Should the weather not comply (why would that ever happen in Alberta!?) we are happy to reschedule your booking without penalty. Cancellation greater than 3 weeks prior to the scheduled booking will result in a refund of 75% of the booking fee. Cancellation within 3 weeks of the scheduled booking will result in a refund of 50% of the booking fee. Cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled booking will result in a refund of 25% of the booking fee.
